Corporate and other support in the past helped us to maintain this programme of residential care and protective workshops for the past twenty-five years and we are confident that these programmes will be maintained in this way with the necessary funding.

Free State Residential Care Centre requests financial assistance for its ongoing multi-racial programmes for mentally challenged adults in the Free State Province, Republic of South Africa, who can not function in the open labour market and who are in need of constant care.

Vision:
A safe and well-kept environment that assist the mentally challenged adult to develop in a humane way which will enable him / her to make a meaningful contribution to society.

Objectives:
The provision of residential, as well as physical, psychological and financial care to mentally challenged adults

Goals:
To promote the social image of the mentally handicapped adult as well as their personal independence.  To improve the quality of life of every individual in the Centre.

Free State Residential Care Centre is a multi-racial centre, which was founded in 1981 and has for the past twenty-five years grown from strength to strength.  During these years the Centre has proven itself as a reliable and well-established organisation with an excellent infrastructure, providing an essential service in the care of one of the most destitute groups, the mentally challenged person.

The Centre is run by a governing body of 1- persons - their qualifications ranging from lecturers, medical doctors to financial advisors.  The Department of Social Development is also represented on this body.  The governing body holds regular meetings and receives reports from the director on the finances and performance of the Centre.
